Jackson County, Oregon Citizen's Committee started a petition in 1865 that asked the County to extend payment to persons enlisting in the Oregon Volunteer Infantry before February 1, 1865. The collection contains the petition dated February 1, 1865, and includes fifty-four signatures.

Collection is comprised of the muster rolls for Captain Orlando Humason's Company B of the First regiment, Oregon Mounted Volunteers.

The Oregon Militia, 1st Brigade, 1st Regiment, Company A, which organized during the American Civil War, was referred to as the "Mountain Rangers." The collection (1863-1867) contains journals, correspondence, muster rolls, and information regarding the origin and dissolution of the Mountain Rangers.

The collection consists of a single voucher from the Quarter-Master's Department of the Oregon Territory to Patrick Dailey for service in the Oregon Mounted Volunteers.
