Letterpress copybooks

Owen Nickerson Denny (1838-1900) was an Oregon attorney and county judge who also served as the adviser to the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The collection (1886-1890) contains a letterpress copy book of semi-official and personal correspondence and a published volume of his edited letters.

Harold Hanne Elarth (b. 1885) was a U. S. Army officer who served in the Philippine Constabulary and rose to the rank of Lt. Col. The collection contains research for Elarth's book on the Philippine Constabulary, Philippine Constabulary Officers Association history, a diary, letterpress copybooks, a Philippine Constabulary manual, photographs, and correspondence.

The R.D. Hume and Company was founded by Robert Deniston Hume (1845-1908) who came to Oregon from California and created a commercial empire in Curry County. The collection (1877-1911) contains ledgers, journals, cash books, inventories, statements, invoices, letterpress copybooks, as well as records of related accounts and companies: Wedderburn Trading Co., Del Norte Commercial Co., and Excelsior Packing and Trading Co.

James L. Cowan was the Commissioner of Indian Affairs, of the U.S. Office of Indian Affairs at Warm Springs Oregon. The collection (1896-1898) contains the Commissioner's letterpress copybook of incoming and outgoing correspondence.

Benjamin Young was a salmon canner, banker, real estate promoter of Astoria, Oregon and worked for the British America Packing Company. The collection contains letterpress copy books that include personal and business correspondence, a record book of the Ben Young Land Company, a scrapbook, and twenty-one volumes of British America Packing Company journals, cash books, letterpress copy books, ledgers, and invoice books, 1882-1906.
