Chambers Communications Corp. was a TV news production company in Eugene, Oregon. The collection contains film, videotapes, DVDs, and paper reference logs.

The commander of the Eastern Oregon steamship was S. E. Young, and in 1887 it began a voyage for the purpose of delivering the ship to its new owners, the Oregon Railroad and Navigation Co. The collection (February 12, 1887 - May 19, 1887) contains a trip log.

W. Harry Hembree was a ship captain and master ship builder in Oregon. His family, and the Kellogg family, owned and built ships and created a freight transportation company in the Willamette Valley. The W. Harry Hembree Papers consist of the retelling of Hembree's grandfather's 1843 overland journey, a 1947 interview in which Hembree reminisces about his family and his life, and Hembree's 1912 log of the Althea voyage from Portland, Oregon to Alaska.

John Lawrence Johnson (1830-1916) was a pioneer who came to Oregon with his parents in 1851. The collection includes Johnson's diary of that journey as well as a letter from Johnson's uncle.

The records in this collection are from the Lane County, District no. 10 (Eugene) division of the Oregon State Defense council. The collection (1942-1944) contains correspondence, minutes, committee records, evacuation plans, emergency test reports, minutes of the police reserve group, and University of Oregon Aircraft Warning Service observation post log books.
