Women Pioneers -- Oregon

Rose Arrington Blanchard was the Oregon born daughter of emigrants to Scottsburg, Oregon. The Rose A. Blanchard "Memories of My Sister, Fannie Lyons Dimmick" collection contains an eleven page account of Blanchard's sister's life as a pioneer resident of Scottsburg and Coos Bay, Oregon.

Arvazena A. Cooper (1845-1929) traveled the Oregon Trail with her family in 1863 and settled in the Willamette Valley. The collection contains her reminiscences of that journey and biographical information about her life in Oregon.

The collection contains Marianne Hunsaker D’Arcy’s autobiography, both in handwritten form, and typed. D’Arcy was among the first generation of Americans to settle in Oregon.

Minerva Ann Patterson Hendershott Eaton (1850-1924) was a nineteenth and early twentieth century resident of Union County, Oregon. The collection includes is mostly in the form of addresses to the Pioneer Association of Union County.

The Adams family includes William Lysander Adams, his son John W. Johnson, (first president of University of Oregon), his son Herbert S. Johnson, and family members Olive Frances Goodell, Helen E. Adams, Inez Adams Parker, and Thomas McBride. The collection (1929) contains a scrapbook created by Herbert S. Johnson of Adams and Goodell family documents, correspondence, and genealogical research.

Fay Hampton Robertson compiled histories of the Moore, Hampton, and Dillard branches of her family. The collection consists of typewritten copies of those histories as well as the trail diary of Jonathan Limerick Moore (1830-1862).

Collection consists of the memoir of Mrs. Inez Eugenia (Adams) Parker, who crossed the plains from Illinois to Oregon in 1848 and spent her childhood in Yamhill, Oregon. Her memoir, Early recollections of Oregon pioneer life, tells of her life in Illinois. Inez Adams Parker traveled on the Oregon Trail as a very young child and wrote her recollections late in life. The collection consists of her typed, autobiographical account of her life in Oregon.

Lucy Applegate (1830-1910) was the daughter of Charles Applegate and the niece of Jesse Applegate who helped establish the Applegate Trail in Oregon. Collection contains five letters that are undated.
