Animals -- Juvenile literature

Glenn O. Blough (1904-1995) was an author of children's books and textbooks. The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, reviews, galleys and a few illustrations relating to Blough's interest in illuminating the world of science for young readers.

Inez Hogan (1895-1973) was an educator, author, lecturer, and illustrator of books for children. Hogan is most noted for her animal stories, including a series about animal twins, and her "Nicodemus" series about a young African American boy and his family and friends. The collections consists of forty years of correspondence, literary manuscripts, illustrations, research materials, contracts, one scrapbook, photographs, publicity materials, and biographical information.

Charles Paul May (November 23, 1920-) is known for his youth books. The collection contains manuscripts, correspondence, research, and published books relating to his work.

Joseph Edward Van Wormer (1913-1998) was an Oregonian wildlife photographer and author. The collection includes Van Wormer's literary manuscripts for eight books about animals of the Northwest, mostly for children, and related correspondence.

Stanley Paul Young (1889-1969) became a biologist who held many positions in the federal government, including in the Department of Interior, and also authored articles and books, including literature for children, regarding America's wolves, coyotes, and big cats. The collection (1940s-1960s) contains manuscript material, photographs, and minor correspondence.
