Consists primarily of correspondence with editors, manuscripts of fiction and some non-fiction, and financial material relating to the marketing of his stories.

Elizabeth Head Fetter (1904-1972) was an author of mystery novels and novels dealing with female psychology, and a free-lance writer of short stories and magazine articles. The collection contains professional and personal correspondence including fan mail, day journals and travel diaries, manuscript materials, book reviews by Fetter, photographs and published material.

Vera Henry (1909-1987) was a writer of short stories, including confession stories, and was represented by the Lenniger Literary Agency. The collection (1949-1967) contains manuscripts of twenty-two short stories, and correspondence with Edith Margolis of the Lenniger Literary Agency.

Collection comprises the papers of novelist and screenwriter Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, including original screenplay drafts, notes, personal research documents, completed screenplays, writing agreements, and correspondence relating primarily to Merchant Ivory film productions from 1965 to 2009.

Walter Evans Kidd was a noted poet and author of short stories. He was born in 1901 and raised in the Portland, Oregon area. He was educated at the University of Oregon, the University of Iowa and the University of Denver. He held teaching positions at various institutions and published numerous works under the pseudonym Conrad Pendleton. This collection contains correspondence from colleagues and friends as well as other professional materials.

Peter Bernard Kyne (1880-1957) was a prominent author of novels and short stories. He served in the Spanish-American War and World War I, and resided in San Francisco most of his life. This collection includes thousands of personal and professional correspondence, and well over a hundred manuscript copies of novels and short stories. While this collection spans the years 1917 to 1957, the majority of the correspondence dates from 1935-1940.

Jacland Marmur (1901-1970) was an author best known for his Navy related stories. The collection contains correspondence, manuscripts, notes, photographs, tearsheets, index cards, books, pulps, articles, photographs, drawings, memorabilia, and reviews.

Raymond Smiley Spears was an American author of western and adventure stories. Collection comprises personal and professional correspondence; diaries and journals; manuscripts of books, short stories, and non-fiction articles; tearsheets of stories, articles, and advice columns published under a variety of pseudonyms, Jim Smiley most frequently; research material; whole issues of magazines containing his stories or articles; and copies of his published books.

Mary Jane Waldo (1915-1967) was an author who wrote romances and confessions of 1945, feature stories for the Portland Oregonian, and was an instructor of creative writing at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Collection consists of manuscripts of stories and poems, a collection of published pieces, professional and personal correspondence, speeches, copyright papers, and a photograph.
