William D. Rutherford (January 14, 1939- ) was a State Legislator and State Treasurer for Oregon. The collection includes papers regarding his tenure as Legislator and Treasurer, as well as other career records and family papers.

Nancy Ryles was a Republican politician who served on both the Oregon House of Representatives (1979-1982) and the Oregon Senate (1983-1987). The Nancy Ryles papers include material relating to Ryles time as an Oregon legislator, including materials relating to Death with Dignity, education and schools, and her campaigns.

Delazon Smith settled in Linn County in 1852 and was one of the first United States Senators from Oregon, elected in 1858. The letters are to his brother and refer at length to the question of statehood for Oregon.

James Sperry (1833-1922) was a Oregon pioneer, farmer, trader, army veteran, sheep raiser, and politician. Collection contains one, ten paged history of the Sperry Family written by Sperry.

Frederick Steiwer (1883-1939) became a lawyer who served as Oregon district attorney 1912-1916, was elected to the State Senate, served in WWI, and was elected to the U.S. Senate (1926-1938). The collection contains political campaign records, army records, correspondence and clippings, 1911-1933.
