Clippings

John Whiteaker (1820-1902), a Democrat, was Oregon's first state governor from 1859-1862. The collection consists of personal papers and photostats of Whiteaker's journals and scrapbooks.

The Willamette Greenway Advisory Committee (WGAC) is a group of professionals, each with specialties in different fields, who together make up recommendations and give advice to the Lane County Board of Commissioners. The collection contains WGAC plan drafts, agendas and minutes, membership lists, printed matter, a proposal for the WGAC, correspondence and notes of William Loy, news clippings, and newsletters.

Harper Hubert Wilson (1909 - ?) was a professor of political science at Princeton University. The collection (1954-1970) contains correspondence with Robert Staughton Lynd and with J. Edgar Hoover, among others, regarding civil liberties and politics of the day, and also clippings regarding Wilson, Hoover, and Lynd.

Frederick Enos Woltman (1905-1970) was an investigative reporter who won the Pulitzer Prize in 1947 for his "expose" articles about communist infiltration into education, labor unions, organized religion and government. The collection contains correspondence from 1941-1943.

William L. Worden (1910-1982) was a journalist who settled in the Pacific Northwest and wrote about the region. The collection consists of Worden's early correspondence and manuscripts, including manuscripts and research for his history of the Matson Navigation Company.
