Collection includes personal papers, professional papers, publications, field notes, slides and negatives, and reel-to-reel films relating to the career of Luther Cressman (1897-1994), an anthropologist and University of Oregon professor who focused on prehistoric man in Oregon.

The C. Girard Davidson Papers document the career of attorney, politician, and businessman Crow Girard "Jebby" Davidson (1910-1996). The collection is organized into major series concerning government projects, legal cases, political activities, and business interests. The majority of material related to Davidson's service as Assistant Secretary of the Interior (1946-1950) is housed in the Truman Presidential Library in Independence, Missouri.

Jesse Wayne Forrester managed logging operations for the Coos Bay Lumber Company, which operated from 1916 to 1956. Collection comprises six reels of 16mm film documenting Coos Bay Lumber Company logging operations in the Coos River Watershed in Oregon, circa 1930s to 1940s, created by a professional film crew hired by Jesse Wayne Forrester.

Ben Linder (1959-1987) was an American mechanical engineer who worked in San Jose de Bocay, Nicaragua from 1983 until his death by the Contras on April 28, 1987. The collection includes correspondence, diaries, articles on political and engineering subjects, photographs, and the Linder family’s records, all of which reflect Linder’s humanitarian work, his political activism, and the impact his death had on American foreign policy debates and within the general public sphere.

Wayne Lyman Morse (1900-1974) was a United States Senator from 1945-1969. He was a member of the Labor and Welfare Committee, Armed Services Committee, and Foreign Relations Committee and served as a delegate to the United Nations. The collection contains senatorial papers, 1944-1968, research material, arbitration decisions, speeches, financial material, mementos and personal and general correspondence.

Ruth Mountaingrove (1923-2016) was a photographer, writer and artist who moved to Oregon in 1971, settling in communes and eventually co-founding Rootworks, a lesbian community in Southern Oregon. The collection consists of 21 VHS videotapes of Mountaingrove relating the story of her life by talking, dancing, and singing.

Charles Orlando Porter was a lawyer in Oregon and a congressional representative of the fourth district of Oregon from 1957-1961. The collection contains his political and congressional papers from 1954-1961. Included are materials on bills introduced in the 85th and 86th Congresses. The majority of the collection consists of subject files. Porter’s 1954 campaign materials are also included.

Sharon Sherman was a professor of English and Folklore at the University of Oregon. From 1976 to 2008 she taught courses and produced films and videos about folklore subjects. Her work—books, articles, reviews, and committee work in addition to her films—gave folkloric film a new prominence and led to its recognition as a valid form of academic research. The collection contains teaching and research files as well as film, video and audio recordings and correspondence.

The Warner Creek Fire collection consists of documents related to the Warner Creek Fire in Willamette National Forest, Oregon in October 1991, and its aftermath. The majority of the collection is the Administrative Record presented by the U.S.F.S. during DISTRICT OF OREGON lawsuit 94-6245: SIERRA CLUB, et al v. UNITED STATES FOREST SERVICE.

The Widowed Services Program/Displaced Homemaker Center and Widowed Services Program was established at the University of Oregon by Hazel Foss in the mid-1970s to help new widows and displaced homemakers develop skills to enter the workforce. The collection contains office files, grant records, publicity and media materials, publications, videotapes and audiotapes, and photographs.
