John Roberts White (1879-1961), an English soldier who served with the Philippine Constabulary, was also superintendent of the Iwahig Penal Colony, and served in the U.S. National Park Service. Roy Martin Winger (1885- ?) served in WWI, taught at Army overseas schools during WWII, and was a professor of mathematics at the University of Oregon, and at universities in Washington and Illinois. The collection (1918-1968) contains personal letters sent while Winger was a private during WWI, when he taught in Army overseas schools during WWII, and also when he was a professor at the University of Washington.
