Biographical / Historical
Mathilde Moses (1887 - ?) was born in Stonewall, Texas, and educated at Denver University.
In 1916, she travelled to India as missionary teacher, under the auspices of the Women's Foreign Missionary Society, of the Methodist Episcopal church.
From 1917 to 1919, Moses was a teacher at Girls' High School, Cawnpore, and from 1920 to 1921, was principal of the Hudson Memorial School, Cawnpore.
In 1922, she returned to the United States on a Cook's tour, via the Near East and Europe. She returned to India in 1923, teaching at the Sawtelle Girls' School, Arrah, Bihar.
During the 1930s, she was with the Adams Girls' School, Almora, U. P., and with Methodist girl's schools in Roorkee and Bareilly.
