The collection is organized into series. The paper finding aid includes title, music publisher, and date of publication information.
Series I: Published Music contains sheet music and songbooks.
Series I: Subseries A: contains published sheet music organized alphabetically by title.
Series I: Subseries B: contains songbooks also organized alphabetically by title.
Series II: contains manuscripts of sheet music organized alphabetically by title.
Series II: contains biographical information, and Series III: contains photographs.

Biographical / Historical
Lowell Patton (1893-1961) was born in Portland, Oregon, and studied organ under Carl Denton. He was nationally known as a radio organist.
He was organist in the Chautauqua and Lyceum circuits in the 1920s, and was organist of the First Methodist Church, Portland, Oregon. From 1932-1957, was organist of the First Presbyterian Church, Hempstead, New York.

Abstract
