The collection consists of manuscripts and some published copies of stories by both authors, as well as some correspondence. Many of the manuscripts have correspondence related to the story attached. Additional correspondence with agents and publishers appears in separate files.

Biographical / Historical

Arthur G. Stangland (1908-1990) and Artie Stangland/Artie Appleton (1910-1995) were a pair of married writers who lived in Astoria, Oregon. Arthur Stangland wrote science fiction stories which that were published in various popular magazines. Artie Stangland wrote primarily romantic fiction, much of it with Edith Warner, under her maiden name, Artie Appleton.
