John Barclay Fisken papers relating to the history of the Washington Water Power Company
Scope and Contents
The papers include a set of annual reports and accompanying documents of the Washington Water Power Company, 1910-1940. Also included are notes on early distribution systems, a paper on the development of electric service in eastern Washington, correspondence of Fisken with assorted old-timers about historical matters and photographs of construction and equipment.

John Barclay Fisken (1861-1946) came to the United States from Scotland to Spokane in 1887. He designed and installed three power stations for the Spokane Electric Light and Power Company and later became manager, general superintendent, superintendent of light and power, and chief engineer of the Washington Water Power Company.

He designed and installed three power stations for the Spokane Electric Light and Power Co., and later became manager, general superintendent, superintendent of light and power, and chief engineer of the Washington Water Power Co.
The papers include annual reports and accompanying documents of the Washington Water Power Co., 1910 - 1940; notes on early distribution systems; materials on the history of the company; a paper on the development of electric service in eastern Oregon; and photographs of construction and equipment.
