Biographical / Historical

In 1956, Robert LeFevre founded the Freedom School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At its founding, the school was dedicated to teaching free market and anti-government principles in short, two week sessions during the summer months. In 1965, the school, which LeFevre had begun calling Rampart College, was heavily damaged in a storm-induced mudslide. As a result, the school's operations moved to Santa Ana, California. In its new home, the school shifted its emphasis from small classroom sessions to lectures, home study courses, and seminars directed mainly at business executives. LeFevre left the school in 1973, and it closed in 1975.
