Scope and Contents
The Southern Oregon lesbian land communities oral history collection contains paper and digital transcripts, biographical forms, as well as digital video and audio recordings of Burmeister's interviews with lesbians. Interviewees include Hawk Madrone (also known as Lynda Blumenthal), Zarod Rominski, Jean Mountaingrove, Bethroot Gwynn, Billie Miracle, J. Tangren Alexander, Jemma T. Crae, and Dana MacDonald.

Biographical / Historical
During the 1960s and 1970s, Oregon was home to a large network intentional feminist lesbian communities established as part of the back-to-the-land and feminist movements. Between 2010 and 2011, public historian Heather Burmeister, then a graduate student in History at Portland State University, interviewed eight Southern Oregon lesbian land community members as part of her Master's thesis.
