The collection consists of 10 scrapbooks compiled by Ireland documenting his career and service in the dairy industry and the Oregon house and senate. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, drafts of letters, photographs, and brochures.

Biographical / Historical
Arthur P. Ireland served in the Oregon house and senate as a republican. He was also president of the Oregon Dairymen's Association.
According to the Chronological List of Oregon's Legislator's, Arthur P. Ireland was appointed to the state senate in 1933, for the Second Special Session, and served November 20 to December 9, 1933. The list also shows he served in the state house of representatives January 1955 - May 10, 1961. He again served in the Oregon senate from January 1963 - May 23, 1969.
