Biographical / Historical
The Eugene Women's Crisis Center, established in the 1970s, provided assistance and support to victims of sexual assault. The crisis center was a member of the Rape Crisis Network, a loose affiliation of centers geared toward helping women who had been assaulted that was established in the 1970s. Many of the rape crisis centers existed in cities with colleges or universities.
