Scope and Contents
Jeremiah Barnett Thompson'a reminiscences, "Early days in Oregon" is a thirty-six page account of Thompsons life. Completed in Feburary of 1922 when Thompson was residing in the Soldiers Home in Roseburg, Oregon, the reminiscences recount his family's journey accross the plains, as well as his service in the Rogue River Indian Wars, and his work in several mines in the Pacific Northwest.

Biographical / Historical
Jeremiah Barnett Thompson emigrated to Oregon from Arkansas by way of the Oregon Trail in 1853. He served in the Rogue River Indian Wars between 1856 and 1857, and made his living, primarily, as an itinerant farmer, miner, and carpenter.
