Biographical / Historical

Edward L. Eastham was president of the Willamette Transportation and Locks company. He held shares in the Walla Walla Water company, and was involved with the U. S. Electric Lighting and Power company.

The Willamette Transportation and Locks company was created in 1868 to build a canal around the Willamette Falls, in order to allow for easier and faster commercial and passenger shipping.
