The collection consists of a photostat copy of a deed transferring ownership of lot 4, block 117 in Portland, Oregon Territory, from Finnis Caruthers to Clinton Kelly for the sum of $200.

Biographical / Historical
Finis Caruthers was a Portland land owner.
Clinton Kelly (1808-1875) was a Methodist preacher. He came to Oregon from Kentucky in 1847, and settled on a donation. He posessed a land claim opposite Portland.
