Collection documents the workings of the International union, most heavily between 1959 and 1987, and includes minutes, proceedings, convention records, correspondence, expired contracts, financial and legal records, speeches, historical writings, issues.

Biographical/Historical note
CIO-affiliated union founded in 1937 by woodworkers in the United States and Canada. In April, 1987, the International Woodworkers of America (IWA) split to form the IWA-U.S. and IWA-Canada unions. The IWA-U.S. is headquartered in Gladstone, Or.
