Biographical / Historical
Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) is a non-profit trade association comprising public/people's utility districts, electric cooperatives, municipalities and crown corporations in the Western U.S. and Canada" (NWPPA website, 2013).
NWPPA also serves the sales and networking needs of approximately 300 Associate Members across the U.S. and Canada who are allied with the electric utility industry (NWPPA website, 2013).
Gustav "Gus" Norwood, served as Northwest Public Power Association's executive secretary for 20 years (1947- 1967). He was then appointed as the first administrator of the Alaska Power Administration in Juneau, Alaska.

The collection (1953-1959) contains working files of legislative initiatives regarding Oregon power development.
