Scope and Contents
The collection contains articles of association, membership information, committee minutes and reports, financial records, correspondence and memoranda, contracts, and publications, 1952-1958; the Association destroyed its earlier records.
Articles of association include by-laws, incorporation records, and correspondence.
Committee materials include meeting minutes, treasurer's reports, resolutions, agendas, tax committee and legislative committee records.
Financial records include bills, claims, statements and checks.
Publication records include Northwest Ruralite, correspondence, contracts, and memoranda.

Biographical / Historical
The Oregon Rural Electric Cooperative Association (ORECA) was formed in 1942. Individuals representing five member cooperatives signed ORECA’s Articles of Incorporation. ORECA Founders were: V.A. Parker (Blachly-Lane Electric), James E. Paddock (Lane Electric), Ivan C. Laird (Coos-Curry Electric), George W. Hendrix (Benton-Lincoln Electric), and J.B. Rader (Douglas Electric).
