Scope and Contents
The collection contains corporate and administrative records interspersed throughout the collection, including articles of incorporation, by-laws, financial statements, ledgers of stockholder's and Board of Director's meeting minutes, resolutions, and correspondence.
The collection also contains tax and liquidation records, capital surplus files, correspondence notebooks, including notebooks of Harry T. Nicolai correspondence.
There are also files on the Oregon-Washington Plywood company, and the Chicago Plywood company.

Biographical / Historical
The Nicolai family of Portland, Oregon established an Investment company that was incorporated in 1922 by Harry T. Nicolai, Charles E. McCulloch, and Marvin K. Holland. The family also ran a sawmill business and a door and sash manufacturing company, among other business ventures.
Louis Nicolai (1838 - ), of Saxony, Germany, and his family emigrated to America when he was fifteen years old. They travelled to Oregon in 1868. Family members and especially the brothers that helped run the companies were Adolph, Theodore, William, Harry T., and Arthur F.

Abstract
The Nicolai family of Portland, Oregon established an investment company, incorporated in 1922 by Harry T. Nicolai, Charles E. McCulloch, and Marvin K. Holland, and also operated a sawmill business and a door and sash manufacturing company, among other business ventures.
