Collection includes 5 volumes of account books and papers regarding the undertaking firms of John Ewry and his associates: Brelsfoard & Ewry (1865-1870), Ewry & Cook (1871-1876), and Ewry & Garnold (1877-1880). There is also a fold of miscellaneous papers including correspondence and proof of incurrence of disability.

John Ewry (1831-1907) was a pioneer and Portland, Oregon undertaker who established three successive undertaking firms: Brelsfoard & Ewry in 1865, followed by Ewry & Cook in 1871 and then Ewry and Garnold in 1877.
