Jules Archer (1915-) specializes in writing political, historical, and biographical books for younger readers. The papers consists of an extensive collection of book manuscripts, articles, short stories, article ideas, outlines, research materials, and correspondence covering a time span from the 1940s through the 1970s.

Margaret Ayer (1894-1981) was a free-lance writer, artist and illustrator of literature, with an emphasis on children's literature. The collection includes manuscripts, illustrations and correspondence that reflect her interest in art and in Asia.

Hetty Burlingame Beatty (1907-1971) was a sculptor and an author and illustrator of books for children. The collection includes manuscripts, illustrations, and correspondence relating to Beatty's interest in animals, especially horses, and travel adventure.

Josef Berger (1903-1971) was a children's book author, political speechwriter, poet, and lyricist. The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, speeches, and published articles, relating to Berger's interest in American history, politics, and culture.

Elisa Bialk (1912-1990) grew up in Chicago and was still in high school when she began to publish articles in magazines and newspapers. The Elisa Bialk Papers contain a large collection of complete manuscripts from Bialk's children's novels. There is also detailed correspondence as well as a variety of fan mail.

Glenn O. Blough (1904-1995) was an author of children's books and textbooks. The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, reviews, galleys and a few illustrations relating to Blough's interest in illuminating the world of science for young readers.

Esther Brann (1899-1998) was an author and illustrator of books for children. The collection includes eight manuscripts, two published works, and a series of correspondence relating to Brann's interest in subjects such as her own child and young relatives, and her family's dog.

Latrobe Carroll (1894-1996) and Ruth Carroll (1899-1999) were American authors of children’s literature. The collection includes manuscripts, illustrations and correspondence that reflect the work of Ruth and Latrobe Carroll.

Maribelle Cormack (1902-1984) was a museum director and children's author. The collection includes manuscripts, publications, correspondence, illustrations, photographs, radio scripts, and book reviews of her work, as well as biographical material, including an autobiographical sketch and genealogy.

Ellis Credle (1902-1998) was an author and illustrator of children's and young adult books. The collection includes manuscript material from her books Andy and the Circus; Little Fraid, Big Fraid; Little Pest Pico; Mexico, Land of Hidden Treasure; and Monkey See, Monkey Do.

Polly Curren (1917-?) was a writer of children's literature and a teacher. She wrote during the 1950s through the 1970s and her stories span the reading ability level from early readers to young adult fiction. This collection includes manuscripts from books that Curren published in the 1970s and the correspondence with editors and publishers.

Collection comprises the papers of American children's book author Irmengarde Eberle, including literary manuscripts, correspondence and related materials for eleven books for children and young adults published from 1937 to 1973.

Evelyn Sibley Lampman (1907-1980) was an Oregon writer of books for children and young adults. The Evelyn Sibley Lampman Papers consist of manuscripts, galley proofs, illustrations, short story manuscripts, radio manuscripts, plays, correspondence, and photographs.

Margaret Carver Leighton (1896-1987) was an author of books for children. The collection includes manuscripts, galley proofs, and correspondence for fifteen books relating to Leighton's interest in historical personages and incidents, as well as her own children.

Dorothy Morrison was an educator and writer. The collection includes manuscripts for two pieces, The Eagle and the Fort and Ladies Were Not Expected.

The collection includes a range of materials related to her publications and is noted for the series of sketchbooks, 1902-1940s that document her evolution as an artist, and the complete set of illustrations for My Lady Lee.

Franklin M. Reck (1896-1965) was an author of books for young boys. The collection includes correspondence, notebooks, and literary manuscripts for books, articles, short stories, early works, and presentations to the Ford Foundation.

Collection comprises a manuscript, art work and books associated with American writer Annette Turngren. Included is a draft manuscript of Mystery plays a golden flute. There are illustrations by Dorothy Bayley for The copper kettle, and for Flaxen braids. And there are a number of Turngren's published books, including The copper kettle; Choosing the right college; and Mystery of the water witch.

Hazel Wilson (April 8, 1898-August 20, 1992) worked in many positions at libraries around the country as well as a position overseas. She also held other positions relating to students. The material in this collection reflects her career as an author.

Lee and Robert Wyndham were authors of children’s books as well as holding many other positions pertaining to writing. Their collection includes correspondence, miscellaneous materials, published works and many manuscripts that represent the careers of the Wyndhams.

Grace Sydenstricker Yaukey (1899-1994) was an author of books primarily for children. The collection includes manuscripts of books, articles, and short stories; correspondence; and reviews relating to Yaukey's interest in the history and culture of China.

Herbert Spencer Zim (1909-1994) was a teacher and author in the field of science. His works in this collection reflect his work in the science field. Sonia Bleeker Zim was an editor for a publishing house and a writer of youth books. Her work in this collection represents her career as a youth author.
