Hugh Baillie (1890-1966) worked at United Press first as a reporter, then general news manager, and then became president during 1935-1955 , and was also a published author. The collection contains manuscripts, including versions of his autobiographical work, High Tensions, correspondence, memoranda, news stories, publicity, published work and periodicals.

Samm Sinclair Baker (1909-1997) was an advertising executive and writer of numerous self-help books. The collection consists of manuscripts of some of Baker's books and radio plays.

Baldwin was a Portland, Oregon, resident and pamphleteer. Collection includes Baldwin's manuscripts, publications, correspondence, On War clippings, and other miscellaneous papers.

Henry Baldwin wrote historical sketches for a Marshfield, Oregon (now known as Coos Bay) newspaper, in 1879, that were based on a journal by L.L. Williams, which contained an account of an 1850 exploration party's encounter with "Indians" of Southern Oregon. The collection (1938) contains photocopies of the historical sketches, and a historical write-up by Sheldon Sackett about William's journal, the exploration party, and the Marshfield, Oregon newspaper, Weekly Coast Mail.

William David Ball (1885 - ?) was a writer of short stories and photoplays and edited a book regarding markets and methods for writers. The collection (1920-1965) contains manuscripts of short stories and articles, correspondence, and memorabilia.

Willis Todhunter Ballard (1903-1980) was a writer of the western and mystery fiction genre. The collection consists of professional correspondence from 1947 to 1972, publication records, papers of the Western Fiction Writers of America (WWA) documenting his activity in that organization, and literary manuscripts of 70 books, 17 teleplays, one screenplay, and a few magazine articles.

Eugene Barnes and David Dougherty published an edited work based on an original volume of medieval poetry, Le geste de Garin de Monglane, also known as the Cheltenham Manuscript. The collection consists of a typed, annotated, and edited manuscript of their work, Le Galien de Cheltenham.

Laurence (Larry) Barretto (1890-1971) was a novelist, magazine editor, and war correspondent. The collection consists of WWI diary pages and WWII diaries, correspondence, manuscripts, published materials, and scrapbooks.

Ann Barron was a client of the Lenniger Literary Agency and a writer whose manuscript, "Sleep, Sable Brother," was published in 1969 by Gold Medal Books under the title Strange Legacy. The collection (1967) contains the final manuscript for "Sleep, Sable Brother," and one publisher's rejection letter.

Bryton Barron (1898- ) was a teacher, a writer, a civil servant, a publisher and, most notably, a political conservative who wrote critically of the U.S. State Department and U.S. Foreign policy. The collection includes correspondence, writings, reports and newspaper clippings.

Iris Thorpe Barry was a writer of poetry, short stories, and crime and suspense novels. The collection contains manuscripts of poems, short stories, and novels, correspondence, memorabilia and publicity, and published works, 1925-1975.

Pauline Baynes (1922-August 1, 2008) was an illustrator of books primarily for children. The collection includes sketches and drawings relating to Baynes' interest in animals, mythological creatures, fantasy, and fairy tales.

Hetty Burlingame Beatty (1907-1971) was a sculptor and an author and illustrator of books for children. The collection includes manuscripts, illustrations, and correspondence relating to Beatty's interest in animals, especially horses, and travel adventure.

John Owen Beaty, educator and author, was born in Crow, West Virginia on December 22, 1890. As professor of English at Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas, Beaty was the author or co-author of several books pertaining to his English profession and in 1947 wrote a short history of the Military Intelligence Service based on his service in World War II.Consists of correspondence and articles by Beaty, and collected conservative publications.

Kathrine Beck, a novelist who writes under the name K. K. Beck, researched and wrote a biography of Opal Whiteley titled, Opal: A Life of Enchantment, Mystery, and Madness (2003). The collection (1911-2002) contains research files, correspondence, manuscripts, and interviews gathered or produced during the writing of the Opal Whiteley biography.

Harry Behn (1898-1973) was a writer, teacher, and founder of various media groups. The collection includes books, plays, screenplays, correspondence, and mementos relating to Behn's interest in children's literature and educational programs.

Margot Benary-Isbert (1889-1979) was an author of books for young people. The collection includes manuscripts, original illustrations, published books, and correspondence relating to Benary-Isbert's interest in German history and people, and her experience of post-war Germany.

This collection includes articles of incorporation and minutes of stockholders' meetings. The incorporators were Archibald Whisnant, George Vath, and James B. Kerr. Also in this volume are the corporate records of the Bend Press Publishing Co., 1916-1919, the directors being Clyde M. McKay, George T. Pearce, and D. B. Stuart.

Jeanne Bendick (b. 1919) was an author and illustrator of children's books, mostly nonfiction. The collection includes manuscripts, illustrations, and correspondence relating to Bendick's interest in the sciences, the history of science, and the environment.

Robert Bendick (b. 1917) was a cameraman, producer, and director of educational and children's television programs at CBS and NBC, as well as a collaborative author with his wife (Jeanne Bendick) of several children's books. The collection includes television production materials relating to Bendick's work in the field of educational programming.

Frank C. Bensing (1893 - ) from Chicago, was an illustrator, designer, and portrait painter, who worked for New York advertising agencies, and was published in popular magazines. The collection (1926-1951) contains professional and personal correspondence, original illustrations, and biographical information.

Josef Berger (1903-1971) was a children's book author, political speechwriter, poet, and lyricist. The collection includes correspondence, manuscripts, speeches, and published articles, relating to Berger's interest in American history, politics, and culture.

Stan Bettis (1941- ) is a freelance writer and former editor of the University of Oregon's Old Oregon alumni magazine. The collection consists of a manuscript of Bettis's book Market Days: An informal history of the Eugene Producer's Public Market.

Elisa Bialk (1912-1990) grew up in Chicago and was still in high school when she began to publish articles in magazines and newspapers. The Elisa Bialk Papers contain a large collection of complete manuscripts from Bialk's children's novels. There is also detailed correspondence as well as a variety of fan mail.

Elizabeth Bishop was a poet who won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1956 for her collection of poems titled Poems: North and South: A Cold Spring. The collection (1947-1950) contains original and typed transcripts of letters from Bishop to Carley Dawson, a book of poetry by Bishop, and a poem by Carley Dawson.

Maury Whipple Bishop (1894- ) was a Unity minister and a collector and proponent of the artificial language, Esperanto. The collection consists of papers and thirty-two snapshots, many of them from Esperanto Conference at Rolla, Missouri, in 1961.

Kurt Bloch (1900-1976) was a German economist, journalist, editor, and author. The collection contains correspondence, manuscripts, published material and reports, lecture material, research files, and photographs; material is in English and German.

Lawrence Block (1938- ) is an acclaimed contemporary American crime writer. The collection consists of 17 of Block's manuscripts, as well as short stories, articles and outlines.

Peggy O'More Blocklinger (1895-1970) was known for writing youth novels. This collection contains manuscripts, poetry, publications and correspondence, which reflect her work.
