Joanna Foster Dougherty (1928-) was an editor and author of children's books. The collection includes completed questionnaires and letters from illustrators to be used in Illustrators of Children's Books (Boston, 1968). Much of the information was not used in the book.

Roger Duvoisin (1904-1980) a native of Geneva, Switzerland, was an author and illustrator of children's books. His wife, Louise Fatio, (1904-1993) from Lausanne, Switzerland, wrote many of the books Mr. Duvoisin illustrates. The collection includes various correspondence and several original manuscripts.

Ralph E. Dyar (1885-1955) was an author and playwright who also worked for and wrote about newspapers and newspaper promotion and research. The collection contains literary manuscripts, correspondence, and the working files for the book, News for an Empire: The Story of the Spokesman-Review of Spokane, Washington, and of the Field it Serves.

Alexander Vincent Dye (1876-1956) served in the U.S. foreign service in Mexico, Buenos Aires, and London. The collection contains professional and personal correspondence, reports on commercial and political affairs, trip summaries and memoranda, manuscript material, biographical information, mementos, and a scrapbook, 1897-1941.

Thomas Lamb Eliot (1841-1936) was a Unitarian minister who also served as treasurer, acting president, and a committee member of the Portland Art Association. The collection (1910-1915) contains correspondence and printed material related to the the Portland Art Association.

Alice Henson Ernst (1880-1980) was a playwright, teacher, freelance writer, and reporter. The collection (1951-1974) consists of correspondence from Ernst to Hazel Mills, often concerning Ernst's books Trouping in the Oregon Country and The Wolf Ritual of the Northwest Coast.

The Estes von Rhein Family papers include the personal papers and theater memorabilia collection assembled by Charles (1885-1960) and Amy (1867-1937) Estes von Rhein in late nineteenth to early twentieth century Portland, Oregon. Materials include correspondence, clippings, playbills and programs, artifacts, sheet music, and photographs, primarily relating to the performing arts in Portland.

The current Eugene Shakespeare Club, an organization of women devoted to the study of Shakespeare's works, was founded in 1909 and continues in existence as of the date of this writing (1993). The collection contains correspondence, constitutions, histories and recollections, and minutes that include annual reports, clippings, programs, and membership information.

Leonard Fisher (1924- ) was an author, painter, designer, and illustrator of children's books. He was particularly well known for his development of the scratchboard technique. The collection consists of original illustrations, literary manuscripts, correspondence, production materials, photographs, and audiotapes.

Louise (1913-1988) and Richard (1901-1998) Floethe were, respectively, writer and illustrator of children's books. The collection consists of manuscripts, original illustrations, and minor correspondence concerning the book The Story of Lumber.

Forest Grove Door and Lumber Co was the sucessor to J.L. Smith and Son and manufactured lumber, sash, moulding, and furniture. The Forest Grove Door and Lumber Co. collection contains a minute book of the board of directors and loose correspondence.

Gardner Fox (1911-1986) was a comic script writer and author of pulp fiction. The collection contains manuscripts, comic books, paperback books, periodicals, and miscellany.

Arthur D. Fuller (1889-1966) was an illustrator and artist for newspapers, periodicals, and books, and whose specialty was the illustration of hunting and fishing scenes and outdoor action. The collection (1916-1960) contains sketchbooks, drawings, watercolors, oils, and etchings, published examples of Fuller's work, and correspondence.

Charles Wellington Furlong (1874-1967) was an explorer, writer, lecturer, an artist, a college professor, a scientist, a cowboy, a collector, and a foreign correspondent to name but a few of his ‘trades.' The collection contains biographical and military records, manuscripts, articles and lectures by Furlong, notebooks and journals, Philippine Island material, photographs and daguerreotypes, correspondence, audio recordings and books.

May Garelick (1910-1989) was a children's author and editor. The collection contains literary manuscripts, book production materials, and correspondence.

John Gates (1827-1888) was a construction engineer for the Oregon Steam Navigation Co. and the Oregon Railway and Navigation Co. From 1885 to 1888, he served as mayor of Portland, Oregon. The collection consists of correspondence, financial records, legal documents, diaries, scrapbook pages, steamboat plans and inventions, and photographs.

Hardie Gramatky (1907-1979) was the author and illustrator of several books for children, though he is best known for his character “Little Toot.” The collection includes correspondence, illustrations, publicity, photographs, drafts, and artwork.

Morris Cole Graves was an American expressionist painter. Along with Guy Anderson, Kenneth Callahan, William Cumming, and Mark Tobey, he founded the Northwest School. The Morris Graves papers contain correspondence, gallery records, financial documents, information on Graves' houses and properties, artifacts, photographs, and extensive biographical information about Graves and his parents.

Greenwillow Books is a children’s publishing imprint of HarperCollins Publishers. The collection consists of correspondence, production files, manuscripts, book reviews, office files, audiovisual materials, and memorabilia.

Collections comprises papers of American children's book authors and illustrators Berta and Elmer Hader, including manuscripts and original illustrations for books (including The Big Snow), 1927-1958, original Christmas cards designed by the Haders to send to their friends, miscellaneous artwork, correspondence, 1906-1947, family papers, and reviews.

C. Peter Helck (1893-1988) was a writer and illustrator who became most known for his automobile and racecar illustrations. The collection contains original artwork, sketches, illustrations, correspondence, manuscripts, publications, photographs, and tearsheets.

Clarence Peter Helck (1893-1988) was a writer and illustrator who became most known for his automobile and racecar illustrations. The collection contains manuscripts, correspondence, and research files mainly concerning two books, "The Checkered Flag" and "Great Auto Races," and five framed car racing prints.

Binger Hermann (1843-1926) was a Roseburg attorney and politician who represented Oregon in the U.S. House of Representatives for sixteen years, and served as commissioner of the General Land Office (GLO) under presidents William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt. The collection (1888-1920) contains Hermann's personal and professional papers.

Nils Hogner (1893-1969) was a muralist and book illustrator who specialized in the illustration of nature books. The collection contains correspondence, original illustrations, manuscripts by Hogner and Dorothy Childs Hogner and others.

Leonebel Jacobs (1883-1967) was a portrait painter who painted Herbert Hoover and Chinese Emperor Pu Ti, among others. The collection (1930s-1960s) contains print copies and photographs of paintings, photographs of Jacobs, correspondence, a manuscript, and mementos.

Collection comprises the papers of novelist and screenwriter Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, including original screenplay drafts, notes, personal research documents, completed screenplays, writing agreements, and correspondence relating primarily to Merchant Ivory film productions from 1965 to 2009.

Avery Johnson was an illustrator of children's books. The collection contains pencil, pen, charcoal, and ink illustrations. It also includes correspondence, reviews, contracts, agreements, and royalty statements.

Harold Jones (1937-1958) was an author and illustrator. The papers include book dummies, original illustrations, and 29 letters from Walter De La Mare concerning This Year: Next Year (London, (1937) by De La Mare and Jones.

The University of Oregon's art museum first opened its doors to the public on June 10, 1933; it was renovated and reopened in 2005 as the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (MOA). The collection (1915-2007) contains records of the Museum and the Friends of the Museum of Art organization, and material includes correspondence and minutes, history files, exhibit and loan material, acquisition files, photographs, and building records among other material.
