He was an outspoken opponent of the New Deal, active in stabilizing farm prices, a central figure in several powerful Constitutional organizations, and the respondent in a landmark First Amendment case, U.S. v. Rumely. The Rumely papers are part of the Conservative and Libertarian collections.
