Elizabeth Southworth Anderson was a member of an Oregon pioneer family that settled in the city of Burns, in Harney County, Oregon, during the 1850s. The collection contains a report dated July 17, 1915 written by Anderson (to Oregon journalist Fred Lockley?) that seeks to contradict another previous account regarding her family's donation claim, and a "negro," who Anderson says "lide" (sic) about something.

The collection consists of a bill of sale transferring half-ownership of the "Brig. Anna & Maime" from William Salter Baker to Orville Risley for the amount of $4,000.00.

Julius Basinski (1844 - ) immigrated from Germany in 1866 and travelled west in 1870, first to Montana, and later into Oregon and Washington. The collection (1894-1921) contains reminiscences by Basinski and incoming correspondence.

Elijah Lafayette Bristow (1832-1887) is the son of Elijah Bristow (1788-1872), the first white settler within the present day boundary lines of Lane county. Collection contains 1 copy of Bristow's manuscript of " Rencounters with Indians, Highwaymen and Outlaws." He comments on his father's experiences in the upper Willamette Valley; Indian tribes; impact of the California gold discovery; and his own experiences in the mines in northern California in 1853.

Josiah Burnett of Eagle Creek, Oregon, worked in mining, survey work, and farming. The collection (1852-1874) contains correspondence regarding family, mining, and politics, and also contains articles of incorporation of Oregon businesses.

Rufus Butler (1812-1884) was an Oregon pioneer who settled in the Umpqua River valley, where he served as a Justice of the Peace. Collection is comprised of a patent of land issued to Rufus Butler of Umpqua County, Oregon on August 8, 1866.

Finis Caruthers was a Portland, Oregon Territory, land owner. The collection consists of a photostat copy of a deed transferring ownership of a Portland lot from Caruthers to Clinton Kelly.

Robert Caufield was born in Broughshand County, Ireland and moved to Oregon City in 1847, where he became a county judge and opened a grocery store. His papers include tax receipts and a receipt for a medical bill.

The collection contains a petition by Thomas Chavner, addressed to the people of Jackson County, Oregon, regarding a bridge over the Rogue River at Dardanelles. The collection contains the petition of October 24, 1864, and includes a list of supporters.

The collection consists of a single probate court document deeding "lots numbered one and two" to James Athey.

Harvey Clark (1807-1858) was a missionary, settler, and educator who, along with his wife, Emeline and Tabitha Moffat Brown, founded the Tualatin Academy in Forest Grove, Oregon Territory. The collection consists of an "indenture" from the Clarks to the "President of the Tualatin Academy and Pacific University" ceding control of the Clarks' Forest Grove land claim.

Stephen Coffin (1808-1882) was a pioneer and early Oregon landowner. The collection consists of a deed issued by Coffin for "lots seven and eight" of "block number 5" of the Portland town site.

Lewis C. Cooper was an early resident of Portland. The collection consists of a deed transferring ownership of Cooper's Portland, Oregon Territory property to Thomas F. Scott.

John Creighton (1834-1884) a pioneer of 1858, came first to Washington and later became a rancher in Oregon, where married Mary J. McCully of Salem. Mary McCully's father, David McCully, invested in some of Creighton's enterprises. The collection (1867-1885) contains correspondence, clippings of the Creighton and McCully family and related family members, receipts, bills, certificates, and other papers.

The collection contains a typed copy of a letter dated October 20, 1889, from C. S. Culver of Mantorville, Minnesota, to his brother and sister Lucius and Amanda Culver. The letter is a description of transportation facilities and natural resources of Oregon during 1889.

Henry Cummins (1840-1901) was a well-read and enthusiastic student of topics various and sundry with a partiality for pseudo-science. The collection (1858-1863) consists of Cummins' personal correspondence as well as a memory book and miscellaneous papers.

Francis DeWitt was a pioneer who came to the Oregon Territory from Germany in 1847 on a sailing vessel. The collection consists of a deed, drawn up by DeWitt, transferring ownership of two lots in the city of Portland to Philander Buchanan.

Willis Dunagan was a farmer in Marion County, Oregon. The collection consists of Dunagan's diaries from 1859 to 1897, a folder of legal documents, and two original school diplomas earned by Dunagan.

John F. Eccles, of Portland, Oregon wrote a letter dated March 13, 1862, to Colonel Brophy, of California, about the nature of Oregonians, and also about mining.

Hymen Fairchild (1832-1907) was an pioneer and early resident of Jackson County, Oregon Territory. The collection consists of land sale agreement between Fairchild and brothers Thomas and Robert Beale.

W. Gale was an Oregon pioneer. The collection consists of a single letter written by Gale in which he discusses his "Oregon claim".

John Smith Griffin (1807–1899) was an Oregon pioneer and missionary. The collection consists of promissory notes from Griffin to fellow missionary Harvey Clark for a South Tualatin land claim.

A. J. Grover wrote a letter dated April 18, 1863, to Edwin Beebe, of Placerville, Idaho to say that he had been delayed by Indians and it was too late for best market in Placerville; he also quotes prices in mining towns.

The collection contains one letter dated January 5, 1863, from A. J. Grover to Edwin Beebe, of Portland, Oregon, giving a good report of Boise mines.

Maria Eloisa McLoughlin (1817-1884) was the second daughter of John McLoughlin. Collection includes one copy of "Life of John McLoughlin Governor of the Hudson's Bay Company Possessions on the Pacific Slope, at Fort Vancouver" manuscript.

The Hedden store was a general merchandise store that operated from 1852-1976 in Scottsburg, Oregon. The collection contains store and postal ledgers detailing accounts of purchases (both general and postal) and also provides information on customers.

William Holmes (1807-1879) was a pioneer and the first sheriff of Clackamas Country. The collection consists of a notice alerting concerned parties to the sale of the Oregon City properties of William Riley by Holmes to settle a debt to John McLoughlin.

David Ingalls was an early resident of Astoria, Oregon Territory. The collection consists of a deed ceding Ingalls claim to his Astoria property to F. A. Smith.

Crawford Isbell (1837-1864) lived in Eugene, Oregon, worked in mines in California, and was murdered on on the road between Canyon City and Eugene. The collection (1864-1865) contains correspondence from Isbell to his siblings, and letters from other's regarding Isbell's murder.

David John was a pioneer of Williamsburg, Oregon, and was a partner in the John Brothers blacksmith firm of Williamsburg. The collection (1860-1869) contains a diary, and an account book for John Brothers.
