Joseph Gardner Wilson, of The Dalles, Oregon, wrote a letter dated February 26, 1870, addressed to "Dear Sir." The collection contains the letter which refers to disposition of scrip from James W. Nesmith to E. M. Barnum, and Wilson writes that he thinks Barnum dishonest.

William H. Willson (1805-1856) was a doctor and preacher in the Oregon Territory and is remembered as the "founder of Salem." The collection consists of a single, 1 paged warranty deed of various pieces of land in the Oregon Territory written by William H. Willson to A. Kitelinger in the presence of H. Holden and C. N. Terry.

The first Oregon branch of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union was formed in 1881, and by 1891 there were eighty-three branches in Oregon. The collection (1889-1910) contains a treasurer's book of the Gardiner, Oregon branch.

Lee Wooden was president of the Oregon Rural Electric Cooperative Association, a member of the Kennedy-Johnson Natural Resources Advisory Committee in 1960, and active in regional public power movements. The collection (1955-1963) contains correspondence relating to public power in the Pacific Northwest.

Woodmen of the World (W.O.W.) is the name of a fraternal organization and the private insurance company that the organization owns and operates. The collection ( 1927-1937) contains a record book of minutes of the Junction City Camp (chapter) No. 446.

Jerome Workman was an attorney in Eugene, Oregon, who also served as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce. The collection (1912-1914) contains correspondence regarding Oregon businesses, including transportation and mining firms.

The collection contains a bill of lading, dated March 14, 1863 for mining supplies and other goods, from the W.W. Baker and Company of The Dalles and Portland, Oregon.

The Yamhill Steamboat Company was organized in 1859 to transport farm products between Portland and California. The collection consists of a journal of accounts for the company.

Founded in 1888, the Yaquina Deep Sea Fishing Company operated out of Portland, Oregon. The collection consists of a single stock certificate issued by the company.

The collection (1875-1882) contains a farm and household account book belonging to J. C. Yates.

Benjamin Young was a salmon canner, banker, real estate promoter of Astoria, Oregon and worked for the British America Packing Company. The collection contains letterpress copy books that include personal and business correspondence, a record book of the Ben Young Land Company, a scrapbook, and twenty-one volumes of British America Packing Company journals, cash books, letterpress copy books, ledgers, and invoice books, 1882-1906.

C.C. Jantzen and J. A. Zehntbauer purchased the manufacturing department of the Portland (Oregon) Knitting Company in 1909; this company was the manufacturer of the Jantzen clothing line. The collection contains a letter dated November 18, 1917, from Zehntbauer to J. L. Krantz, regarding the early history of the company, and problems that arose without access to a worsted (wool) spinning mill in the West.
