Justin Chenoweth (1829-1898) was an Oregon pioneer and surveyor. Collection includes two containers of family letters, poems, important documents, Chenoweth's diary, and biographical and genealogical material.

The collection consists of a single probate court document deeding "lots numbered one and two" to James Athey.

Harvey Clark (1807-1858) was a missionary, settler, and educator who, along with his wife, Emeline and Tabitha Moffat Brown, founded the Tualatin Academy in Forest Grove, Oregon Territory. The collection consists of an "indenture" from the Clarks to the "President of the Tualatin Academy and Pacific University" ceding control of the Clarks' Forest Grove land claim.

Stephen Coffin (1808-1882) was a pioneer and early Oregon landowner. The collection consists of a deed issued by Coffin for "lots seven and eight" of "block number 5" of the Portland town site.

William M. Colvig was the district attorny for Medford, Oregon in 1865, as well as the County School Superintendent and a Republican. Papers include accounts, essays papers on court hearings and addresses.

Amelia R. Combs lived in Eugene, Oregon and was a member of a history association, “Native Daughters.” Acting as chairperson of a committee to gather information about the history of the Eugene Skinner cabin, the location of Columbia College, and the early history of the first Eugene court, Amelia Combs compiled a report in the form of a list responses to these questions.

Arvazena A. Cooper (1845-1929) traveled the Oregon Trail with her family in 1863 and settled in the Willamette Valley. The collection contains her reminiscences of that journey and biographical information about her life in Oregon.

Lewis C. Cooper was an early resident of Portland. The collection consists of a deed transferring ownership of Cooper's Portland, Oregon Territory property to Thomas F. Scott.

Thomas R. Cornelius (1827-1899) was a pioneer and member of the Oregon Mounted Volunteers during the Cayuse and Yakima Indian Wars. The collection consists of a single letter to his wife written during his military service.

William Cornell was a pioneer from Alexandria, Ohio. This collection consist of a copy of his diary that describes his crossing of the plains in 1852 to Oregon.

Daniel Craft (ca. 1815-1908) immigrated to Oregon in 1847. The collection consists of an order of payment from Craft to John S. Hurt of Marion County, Oregon Territory.

John Creighton (1834-1884) a pioneer of 1858, came first to Washington and later became a rancher in Oregon, where married Mary J. McCully of Salem. Mary McCully's father, David McCully, invested in some of Creighton's enterprises. The collection (1867-1885) contains correspondence, clippings of the Creighton and McCully family and related family members, receipts, bills, certificates, and other papers.

The collection contains a typed copy of a letter dated October 20, 1889, from C. S. Culver of Mantorville, Minnesota, to his brother and sister Lucius and Amanda Culver. The letter is a description of transportation facilities and natural resources of Oregon during 1889.

Henry Cummins (1840-1901) was a well-read and enthusiastic student of topics various and sundry with a partiality for pseudo-science. The collection (1858-1863) consists of Cummins' personal correspondence as well as a memory book and miscellaneous papers.

The collection contains the memoirs of Hazel M. Cunningham, original handwritten family letters from the 1870-1890s, and draft pages of the memoir manuscript. The collection includes a bound copy of the memoirs titled, Tapestry, A Partial History of Some Pioneer Families of Polk County, Nebraska, 1979.

The collection contains Marianne Hunsaker D’Arcy’s autobiography, both in handwritten form, and typed. D’Arcy was among the first generation of Americans to settle in Oregon.

William B. Davis was a pioneer and settler. The collection consists of a single letter written by Davis.

Francis DeWitt was a pioneer who came to the Oregon Territory from Germany in 1847 on a sailing vessel. The collection consists of a deed, drawn up by DeWitt, transferring ownership of two lots in the city of Portland to Philander Buchanan.

Originally from Maine, A. P. Dennison (1824-1896) held numerous minor political offices in the Oregon Territory, including Adjutant General. The papers consist of receipts, letters of appointment, reports, and a bound scrapbook.

Orvil and Alice Dodge lived in Jacksonville, Oregon, where Orvil worked as a photographer. Collection includes several handwritten letters to David P. Walrad and his wife along with a brief history of Norman Dodge by Orvil and Allen Dodge (his sons).

Willis Dunagan was a farmer in Marion County, Oregon. The collection consists of Dunagan's diaries from 1859 to 1897, a folder of legal documents, and two original school diplomas earned by Dunagan.

The Durham family was based in Kentucky, although some family members moved out west. The collection (1846-1925) contains correspondence, telegrams, an obituary, an article clipping, and poetry.

John F. Eccles, of Portland, Oregon wrote a letter dated March 13, 1862, to Colonel Brophy, of California, about the nature of Oregonians, and also about mining.

The Ellmakers are a prominent pioneer family who first settled in Lane County, Oregon in the 1850s following their journey across the United States on the Oregon Trail.
