Abstract
Henry Cummins (1840-1901) was a well-read and enthusiastic student of topics various and sundry with a partiality for pseudo-science. The collection (1858-1863) consists of Cummins' personal correspondence as well as a memory book and miscellaneous papers.

Essay which describes Professor Edwards' search for information on the life of Henry Cummins. Cummins was a 19th century reformer and one-time resident of Eugene, Or. Edwards began his research at the suggestion of Martin Schmitt, then Curator of Special.
