Major Vernon Boyd was a Marine Corps officer, specialist in Arctic logistics. His papers include log books for "Operation Nanook,"; Devon Island Expeditions, Arctic Institute of North America, 1947, 1960 and 1962, slides; Marine Detachment Task Force 39, operations from aboard the Burton Island in the Antarctic, 1947-1948, manuscripts of technical papers and correspondence.
