Abstract Algernon Cyrus Dixon (1875-1962) was a director of the Ochoco Timber Co., Eugene, and trustee and president of the West Coast Lumbermens’ Association. From 1911 to 1923 he served on the Board of Regents, University of Oregon (UO), much of the time as chairman of the building committee. The collection includes correspondence with UO presidents Prince L. Campbell and Arnold Bennett Hall, and with Mrs. George T. Gerlinger, Joseph N. Teal and H. Phimister Proctor. Lawrence Thomas Harris (1873-1960) served in the Oregon House of Representatives (1901-1903) and as a justice in the Oregon Supreme Court (1914-1924). The collection (1915-1918; 1923-1927) contains personal and political correspondence files and testimony from the Taxpayers Equalization League, a group that supported the Zorn-McPherson bill to consolidate higher education in Oregon.
