Abstract

William H. Hammond (1908-2001) served in the military during World War II and in state agencies in Oregon for much of his career. He was active in fraternal organizations including the Kiwanis. The collection consists of documentation of Hammond's career and colleagues.

Abstract Collection consists of files on various organizations in which McKay was involved or interested, such as the American Legion, the Oregon Automobile Dealers Association, and the Oregon Mounted Posse. There are political files, including material for the 1948 and 1950 campaigns for governor and a file on the Eisenhower campaign of 1952. Abstract

Douglas Mullarky was a precinct captain of the Oregon Republican party, and he worked on (and/or ran) Republican political campaigns in Oregon, including those of Governor's Earl Snell and Douglas McKay. The collection (1935-1950) contains correspondence with politicians, draft speeches, campaign publicity and ephemera, and a few pieces of personal correspondence.

Abstract

William M. "Bill" Tugman (1893-1961) served as the managing editor, then editor, of the Register Guard newspaper from 1927-1954. The collection contains correspondence, subject files, manuscripts, speeches, biographical information, and also business records of the Port Umpqua Courier.
